Summary

Job Title: IBM DB2 Database Specialist

Introduction:

The IBM DB2 Database Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing the performance of DB2 and IMS databases. They will work closely with DBAs, application teams, and system teams to ensure database health, security, and compliance standards are met.

Responsibilities:

Installing new DB2 and IMS versions and applying maintenance
Configuring DB2 and IMS subsystem parameters for performance optimization
Monitoring database health and application objects using DB2 and IMS tools
Implementing security controls for DB2 and IMS
Conducting SOX audits on database objects
Collaborating with teams to implement database enhancements
Leading service restoration for DB2-related issues
Driving continuous improvement in operational resilience and disaster recovery
Automating tasks and processes for efficiency
Participating in disaster recovery exercises

Requirements:

Required Skills:

12+ years of professional work experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in zOS & ISVs
Expertise in performing SMP/E and Non-SMPE Installation of ISV products
Expertise in IBM and Broadcom Software product Install and Upgrades
Mastery of DB2 and IMS Database management and utilities
DB2 V12 upgrades or later
IMS V15.5 upgrades or later
Fluent in JCL and IBM Utilities (IEBGENER/IEBCOPY/AMASPZAP/DFDSS)
ISPF/TSO and other basic skills
Basic knowledge of REXX/CLIST
Experience in designing project plans and formulating roadmaps
