Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is searching for a Strategic Communications & Engagement Lead for a Right-to-Hire Contractor assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Dallas, TX.
This role will ultimately operate in a hybrid environment in Dallas . Candidates must be local to the Dallas area and 100% comfortable working onsite 3x/week as business and office requirements evolve.
Position Overview
We are seeking a senior, highly proactive Technology Communications & Engagement professional to support a large, fast-paced engineering organization.
This individual will be responsible for shaping and amplifying the organization's technology and engineering narrative across internal and external audiences. The role combines executive communications, technology storytelling, employee engagement, digital content, branding, leadership events, and strategic communications.
The successful candidate must have prior experience supporting technology, engineering, digital, or similarly technical organizations and be able to quickly understand complex initiatives and translate them into concise, impactful communications for executives, engineers, employees, and external audiences.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can operate independently, take ownership of initiatives from concept through delivery, proactively engage stakeholders, and produce polished content with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communications strategies supporting technology and engineering priorities, innovation initiatives, organizational strategy, and employee engagement.
- Translate complex technical and engineering initiatives into clear, concise, audience-appropriate messaging .
- Own recurring internal communications, including executive-level email communications, organizational updates, innovation messaging, and employee engagement campaigns.
- Partner directly with senior technology and engineering leaders to develop executive messaging, talking points, presentations, announcements, and leadership communications.
- Create content for different audiences and channels, including senior executives, engineering teams, employees, prospective talent, and external audiences.
- Develop external-facing technology content across channels such as LinkedIn, websites, digital platforms, podcasts, and other communications channels .
- Support and promote innovation programs, hackathons, engineering initiatives, and other programs designed to highlight the organization's technology capabilities.
- Plan and support town halls, leadership forums, executive events, internal and external technology events, and culture-building initiatives.
- Strengthen the organization's technology brand and employer brand , helping showcase engineering accomplishments and attract high-quality technology talent.
- Build strong relationships across engineering and business teams to identify compelling stories, accomplishments, and initiatives worth amplifying.
- Create polished digital communications using tools such as email platforms, PowerPoint, SharePoint, imagery, branding assets, and other modern communication tools.
- Independently manage communications initiatives from initial stakeholder engagement through content development, review, delivery, and follow-up.
- Maintain strong attention to detail, organization, responsiveness, and follow-through across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Ensure messaging is consistent, accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of communications experience , with meaningful experience supporting technology, engineering, digital, or other highly technical organizations .
- Demonstrated ability to independently own and execute communications initiatives with minimal oversight.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce concise, impactful executive and technology-focused content .
- Strong experience translating complex technical concepts into clear communications for different audiences.
- Experience developing both internal and external communications .
- Experience partnering directly with senior leadership, including VP/SVP/C-suite or equivalent technology executives.
- Strong executive communications experience, including talking points, presentations, organizational messaging, and leadership communications.
- Experience creating digital and social content across platforms such as LinkedIn, websites, SharePoint, email, and other communications channels.
- Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation-development skills.
- Experience supporting town halls, leadership events, innovation programs, hackathons, or similar organizational initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational, project management, attention-to-detail, and follow-through capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work quickly in a fast-moving environment.
- Proactive, self-directed working style with the maturity and judgment to drive initiatives on behalf of senior leadership.
- Experience supporting communications within financial services or another large, complex enterprise environment; financial services experience is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with technology branding, employer branding, talent attraction, or showcasing engineering innovation .
- Experience supporting innovation, transformation, or technology-change initiatives.
- Familiarity with SharePoint and other digital communications/content-development tools.
- Experience incorporating AI-enabled tools into communications strategy and content development.
- Experience with external communications, social media, podcasts, thought leadership, or digital storytelling.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
