Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, machining certificate, or CNC programming education preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience programming and setting up 3-axis CNC mills
- Experience with CAM software preferred
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and mechanical processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Solid math skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
- Dependable with a commitment to quality workmanship
Job Duties
- Review job orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software
- Set up CNC machines, tooling, and fixtures for production runs
- Calibrate equipment and verify machine readiness before production
- Perform trial runs and make program adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Monitor machining operations and maintain quality standards
- Troubleshoot programming and machining issues as they arise
- Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support other manufacturing and production departments as needed
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
