Location: Del City, OK Salary: $38.00 USD Hourly - $43.00 USD Hourly Description: Our client is currently seeking a Support Engineering Data Spec (Mission Ops)
Position Responsibilities:
Develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly Technical Orders (T.O.) based on engineering data and specifications.
Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, test results, and technical data to ensure correct documentation.
Ensure all technical orders comply with established formats, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, and end-users to gather, verify, and validate technical information.
Utilize document authoring tools and specialized software to create and maintain technical orders.
Review and edit technical orders to maintain high quality, accuracy, and consistency.
Manage project timelines and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to meet publication deadlines.
Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with technical and editorial standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant military or industry standards and regulations related to technical documentation.
Provide technical support and clarification to users of the technical orders as needed.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Minimum of 4 years of experience as a former AWACS Airborne Mission Systems Specialist/Airborne Data System Technician (ADST).
Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience with the Block 40/45 (E-3G) mission computing upgrade, or a closely related mission computing systems, including working knowledge of server arrays, LAN infrastructure, or interactive operator workstations.
Demonstrated ability to perform real-time, high-stress system monitoring, diagnostic testing, fault isolation, and hardware replacement on mission-critical electronics.
Technical familiarity with airborne networking protocols and Tactical Data Links, including Link 16, Link 11, SATCOM, or JREAP frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Knowledge of Multi-Sensor Integration (MSI) algorithms, automated data syncing architectures, and tracking correlation across radar or IFF suites.
Experience managing and maintaining Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) computer hardware, including server blades, interactive operator workstations, and network interface cards.
Prior experience as a Technical Writer, Technical Illustrator, or QA Inspector within aerospace or defense.
Associate degree or higher preferred
Proficiency with XML/SGML authoring tools (e.g., Arbortext) and military publishing standards (e.g., S1000D, MIL-STD-38784)
