Job Title: Application Developer III – Java & SQL

Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid work environment - 1 day / week on site)

Duration: 14 Months

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer with 5+ years of hands-on software development experience to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, SQL, and stored procedures, along with experience using AI-assisted coding tools to improve developer productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation.

Required Qualifications

Strong hands-on development experience with Java, including modern Java versions and features.
Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Spring Batch applications and batch-processing solutions.
Advanced knowledge of SQL, including Complex queries, Joins and subqueries, Query optimization and performance tuning.
Developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SQL stored procedures.
Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, coding standards, and application architecture.
Experience with source-control and modern development practices, preferably Git/GitHub.
Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools, for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and developer productivity.
Experience with unit testing, debugging, code reviews, and application troubleshooting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Core Technical Skills Mandatory: Java | Spring Boot | Spring Batch I SQL | Stored Procedures | REST APIs | Git/GitHub | AI Coding Tools.
