Perform calibrations, maintain measurement accuracy and traceability, troubleshoot equipment issues, manage calibration records, and support continuous improvement efforts as part of a skilled metrology team.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, vocational training, or industrial maintenance certification preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience calibrating measurement and test equipment (M&TE)
- Understanding of quality management systems and calibration requirements
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, measurement traceability, and uncertainty principles preferred
- Experience with Fluke MET/TEAM database and SAP is a plus
- Strong math, physics, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Job Duties
- Perform calibrations on measurement and test equipment using approved procedures
- Ensure calibration compliance, accuracy, traceability, and documentation requirements are met
- Create and execute calibration procedures using principles of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics
- Evaluate measurement standards and determine suitability for calibration activities
- Calculate and account for measurement uncertainty
- Troubleshoot calibration issues and implement corrective actions as needed
- Maintain calibration records and process documentation within the MET/TEAM database
- Adapt equipment, standards, and procedures for specialized measurement applications
- Provide technical support and recommendations regarding calibration activities
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancement projects
- Communicate progress, issues, and procedural changes with management
- Support and maintain 5S and lean manufacturing practices
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in a variety of industrial environments throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift equipment, tools, and replacement parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely work around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
- Manual dexterity to operate tools, perform repairs, and inspect equipment.
