Position: Drafter - CAD Modelling & Drafting
Location: Elkton, MD (Onsite)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Drafter to support CAD Modelling and Drafting activities. In this role, you will develop detailed 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models for products, tooling, test equipment, components, and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Siemens NX and a solid understanding of engineering drafting and modelling principles.
Key Responsibilities
Create, modify, and maintain detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using Siemens NX.
Develop part, assembly, and installation drawings from engineering concepts, layouts, and design requirements.
Interpret and apply engineering specifications, standards, and drafting practices.
Complete detailed drawings including dimensions, section views, reference planes, centerlines, hidden lines, and annotations.
Prepare manufacturing and production drawings for components and assemblies.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support product development and production requirements.
Incorporate design changes and drafting revisions to improve product quality, manufacturability, and overall efficiency.
Ensure drawings and models are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable standards and requirements.
Manage design data and documentation within Siemens Teamcenter.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in CAD drafting and 3D modeling.
Hands-on experience with Siemens NX CAD.
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD Modeling and 2D Drafting.
Experience creating detailed engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and technical requirements.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles.
Knowledge of ASME drafting and drawing standards.
Experience using Siemens Teamcenter for product data management and document control.
Background supporting product, tooling, or test equipment design and documentation.
