Cyber Threat Monitoring Analyst (Second Shift) to join its Security Operations Center team. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring security alerts, analyzing suspicious activity, escalating potential threats, and supporting incident response efforts. This is a hybrid opportunity located in Farmington, Connecticut. Required Skills & Experience
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Science, or a related field
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Strong interest in Security Operations and Cyber Defense
- Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, network topology, and security fundamentals
- Familiarity with Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems
- Ability to analyze technical information and work within a detail-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues independently and within a team environment
Desired Skills & Experience
- Internship, academic, or professional experience supporting cybersecurity operations
- Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Splunk or similar enterprise logging solutions
- Experience reviewing security event logs, firewall logs, and system logs
- Exposure to network packet analysis tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump
- Knowledge of endpoint security products such as Carbon Black, Tanium, Symantec, McAfee, or similar platforms
- Additional cybersecurity certifications including Network+, CySA+, CEH, GSEC, GCIH, GIAC, AWS, or Azure certifications
- Understanding of incident response methodologies and security monitoring best practices
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events generated by enterprise security platforms
- Investigate suspicious network and endpoint activity across a large-scale environment
- Review events from firewalls, intrusion detection systems, servers, endpoints, proxies, and other security technologies
- Follow established incident response and escalation procedures based on risk severity
- Document investigations, findings, and response actions accurately
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams and technical stakeholders to resolve security incidents
- Analyze data from security monitoring and logging platforms to identify potential threats
- Contribute to operational process improvement and support Security Operations Center initiatives
- Participate in a 24/7 operational environment with second-shift coverage requirements
