The primary purpose of the position is to administer the Special Security Office (SSO) and all Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)-associated security programs and measures and provides detailed research and analysis on physical, computer, and personnel security. This position performs the following duties:
Technical authority on all SCI security matters and all other areas of classified security and classification within the unit. As principal advisor to the commander, reports on the organization's SSO and SCI, physical, computer, information, personnel, and administrative security.
Provides oversight of unit and SSO security self-inspections and presents detailed and comprehensive reports with corrective action taken to the unit commander. Follows up to ensure complete and quality resolution of discrepancies. Assesses and revises policies and procedures to improve their quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
Administers the SCI security clearance program for all assigned personnel, ensuring all required clearances are up-to-date and completed. Tracks and administers SCI clearances for all in-processing personnel to ensure mission readiness. Terminates or transfers SCI clearances for out-processing personnel.
Represents the unit to a variety of installation and functional areas, including national-level organizations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligible security clearance to be considered for this position.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing is a condition of employment.
This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard, Director of Manpower and Personnel (NGB-J1).

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience, education, or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Applicants will be graded based on their answers to the assessment questionnaire and their supporting documentation. If supporting documentation does not support the answers to the questionnaire, applicants' scores may be modified as appropriate.Applicants will be graded as follows:
90-100 Points: Highly Qualified
80-89 Points: Well Qualified
70-79 Points: Qualified
After adjudicating Veterans Preference, applicants will be referred to the hiring manager in the following order:

Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed.
