Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate production-grade Java web services and API platforms at scale
Own architecture and design for org-wide platforms with measurable business impact
Act as a technical tie-breaker across teams; resolve cross-org architectural disagreements
Drive cross-team initiatives and influence without direct authority
Foster a culture of written communication, code review rigor, and blameless learning
Partner with global cross-functional teams on backend platform strategy
Required Skills
Backend & API: Java, Spring Boot, Micronaut, ExpressJS/Node.js, RESTful APIs, JSON-based services
Distributed Systems: Consensus, CAP trade-offs, eventual consistency, idempotency, backpressure, circuit breakers
Event Streaming: Kafka, Pulsar, Kinesis, CQRS, Event Sourcing
Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (deployment, monitoring, infrastructure), Docker, Kubernetes
Databases: Relational and NoSQL — schema design, optimization, data modeling
DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Maven, GitHub, NPM
Testing: JUnit, Mockito, Spring Test or equivalent backend testing frameworks
Architecture: Multi-region HA, disaster recovery (RPO/RTO), active-active designs, API versioning, service decomposition
