Summary

This role sits within a dynamic team focused on cloud database administration and performance optimization. The Sr Database Administrator will take ownership of the database platform, ensuring reliability, security, and performance across both on-premises and cloud environments. This position will play a key role in the strategic migration to Microsoft Fabric, collaborating closely with Azure infrastructure teams and participating in an on-call rotation for 24/7 support.

Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of the database platform, ensuring reliability and performance across on-premises and cloud environments.
Lead the strategic migration to Microsoft Fabric, implementing best practices for database management.
Administer Azure database services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL databases.
Perform performance tuning and optimization to enhance database efficiency and responsiveness.
Ensure compliance with security standards and manage backup and recovery processes effectively.
Collaborate with Azure infrastructure teams to address incidents and conduct root cause analysis.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor''s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related technical field.
7+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on Azure database administration in enterprise environments.
5+ years of experience administering Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL database administration.
Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell for DBA automation.
