Digital Marketing Consultant Growth Consultant with SQL and AI- This person supports the technical side—getting audiences and conversion signals into the platforms and troubleshooting when something isn''t working.
1. Marketing / MarTech knowledge
This is NOT a SQL/data analyst. They need to understand paid digital marketing campaigns, conversions, audiences, tracking and how platforms such as Meta/Facebook, Google, Snapchat, TikTok work.
Favor someone coming from a marketing team or agency supporting campaigns over someone who''s simply analyzed marketing data.
2. SQL
They need to be comfortable reading AND writing SQL, especially:
Marketing/MarTech knowledge can outweigh perfect SQL skills.
45% SQL — building audiences/conversion signals
35% marketing troubleshooting — tracking, campaign signals, high-spend/high-revenue channels
20% AI implementation/experimentation
They are NOT actually building/running the marketing campaigns. The marketers do that. This person supports the technical side—getting audiences and conversion signals into the platforms and troubleshooting when something isn''t working.
Kochava / Mobile Measurement Platforms — HUGE bonus. They''re heavily mobile and recently migrated from Branch to Kochava. MMP experience in general is valuable.
BigQuery — nice, but not required.
AI experience — definitely highlight it. Even personal projects involving AI agents/tools count.
Communication/stakeholder skills — important. They''ll work directly with marketers and analytics, manage multiple requests and sometimes have to explain why one stakeholder''s request was prioritized over another''s.
Find a MarTech/paid marketing person who can use SQL — NOT a pure SQL/data analyst.
And if they have Kochava/MMP + AI experience, that''s an especially strong candidate.
