A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Linux DevOps Engineer
Position type: Contract/FTEDuration: 12+ MonthsLocation: Chicago, IL 60661 (Hybrid 3 days in office)As a Linux DevOps Engineeryou will:
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation solutions using Ansible and Ansible Tower.
- Develop, manage, and optimize Ansible playbooks for server provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks.
- Support and maintain Linux-based environments, ensuring stability, performance, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, configuration, deployment, and application-related issues.
- Manage system configurations, environment setup, and deployment activities across multiple environments. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and support teams to streamline infrastructure processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Analyze and resolve networking-related issues involving proxies, firewalls, load balancing, routing, and connectivity.
- Support infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, patching, and performance optimization efforts.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks and improve system reliability through scripting and orchestration tools.
- Monitor system health, investigate incidents, and drive root cause analysis for production issues.
- Assist with repository-based workflows, version control practices, and configuration management standards.
- Support deployment and release activities while ensuring compliance with the best operational practices.
- Document automation processes, system configurations, and operational procedures.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience administering and supporting Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible, including creating and managing playbooks.
- Experience with Ansible Tower/AWX for automation and orchestration.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts, including servers, networking, and operating systems.
- Experience troubleshooting networking issues, including firewalls, proxies, DNS, and network connectivity.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Ability to read, modify, and troubleshoot scripts written in Python, Bash/Shell, Go, or Java.
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
