Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner– Customer Rebate Automation to drive the modernization of customer rebate operations by replacing manual, spreadsheet-based workflows with a centralized, scalable, and automated technology solution.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in customer rebate programs, incentive management, trade promotions, pricing, or revenue optimization, combined with expertise in enterprise applications, system integrations, data management, and financial governance.
In this role, the candidate will be responsible for defining the product vision, developing the roadmap, gathering business requirements, and overseeing end-to-end solution delivery. The position requires close collaboration with Sales, Finance, Accounting, Credit, Merchandising, and Technology teams to streamline rebate processes, improve financial accuracy, and deliver measurable operational benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Roadmap
- Establish the product vision, strategic priorities, and implementation roadmap for customer rebate automation.
- Identify opportunities to simplify existing rebate processes and transition manual activities into efficient, technology-enabled workflows.
- Define product capabilities and prioritize enhancements based on business needs, operational challenges, and expected value.
- Manage product requirements, delivery milestones, and ongoing improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
Rebate Process Optimization
- Drive automation across the complete rebate lifecycle, including customer registration, program configuration, eligibility validation, rebate calculations, settlement processing, and reporting.
- Convert complex rebate policies and business scenarios into well-defined functional requirements and scalable system capabilities.
- Define business rules for customer account hierarchies, relationships, program eligibility, exceptions, payment approvals, and settlement management.
- Improve transparency, accuracy, and consistency across rebate calculations and financial reconciliation processes.
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions that reduce manual intervention and operational risk.
Enterprise Systems and Integration Management
- Develop and coordinate integration requirements across rebate management applications, CRM, ERP, Master Data Management, data platforms, and payment systems.
- Partner with engineering and architecture teams to support integrations involving Salesforce, Reltio MDM, Oracle Cloud ERP, Kafka, Snowflake, and payment platforms.
- Ensure appropriate data flows and synchronization between customer records, rebate programs, financial transactions, and reporting systems.
- Define integration requirements using APIs, SFTP transfers, batch processing, and event-driven architectures, as appropriate.
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve integration challenges and address gaps in data consistency, system functionality, and solution architecture.
Data Governance and Financial Controls
- Establish data quality standards, governance practices, and accountability for customer and rebate-related information.
- Ensure rebate calculations, approvals, settlements, and financial transactions support appropriate audit requirements and internal controls.
- Define requirements for exception handling, transaction traceability, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Work with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure alignment between rebate operations and enterprise financial processes.
- Promote accurate, reliable, and timely reporting to support business decisions and financial oversight.
Cross-Functional Leadership and Delivery
- Lead collaboration among business stakeholders, technology teams, implementation partners, and operational users.
- Facilitate requirement workshops, document business processes, and align stakeholders on product scope and priorities.
- Oversee implementation activities from discovery and design through testing, deployment, and adoption.
- Communicate product progress, delivery risks, dependencies, and key decisions to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor product performance and drive continuous improvements based on business feedback and operational metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Management, enterprise technology, business transformation, incentive management, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience with customer rebate programs, incentive platforms, loyalty programs, trade promotions, pricing strategies, or revenue management.
- Strong understanding of customer account hierarchies, customer relationships, program eligibility, rebate calculations, settlements, and financial governance.
- Ability to translate complex business policies and operational requirements into clear product specifications and functional capabilities.
- Experience managing enterprise application integrations involving platforms such as Salesforce, Reltio MDM, Oracle Cloud ERP (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable), Kafka, Snowflake, or payment systems.
- Knowledge of integration methodologies, including APIs, SFTP, batch interfaces, and event-driven data exchange.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale initiatives involving multiple business functions and technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance business priorities, technical dependencies, data requirements, and financial compliance considerations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in retail, wholesale distribution, automotive, manufacturing, consumer goods, or business-to-business (B2B) organizations.
- Familiarity with third-party rebate management software or cloud-based rebate automation solutions.
- Experience developing customer portals, self-service applications, operational dashboards, or business intelligence capabilities.
- Understanding of cloud-based enterprise platforms, modern integration architectures, and event-driven systems.
- Experience improving financial processes through workflow automation, data standardization, and enterprise system modernization.
