-3+ years of Azure DevOps experience - or similar tool like JIRA (must be comfortable with creating epics/features/user stories for projects as well as moving cards through project lifecycle) - REQUIRED

-3+ years of experience using BA/QA tools (e.g., FIGMA, Visio)
Preferred experience:
-Previous work experience as a QA
Clear and concise written and verbal communication is crucial to success and productivity in this role.
-Interview Process: Onsite interviews are tentatively scheduled for 09/08, 09/09, and 09/15
-Duration: 1 year, with the intent to hire the contractor into a full-time position with SOMI within 1-2 years. At the time of hire, the candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship/
-Onboarding: The first month of work will be on-site 5 days per week for onboarding.
-Hybrid: Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week. This position has on-site/in person workdays on Tuesday/Wednesday.
-Local candidates only. The candidate must reside within 1-hour of Lansing, MI by the time of submission.
This position has on-site/in person workdays of Tuesday/Wednesday (must work 8 hours per day in office on those two days, no exceptions). The ideal candidate will live within one hour of Lansing, MI. The first month of work will be on-site 5 days per week for onboarding. At the time of hire, the candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship from the State of Michigan.
This position functions as part of an Agile team with heavy understanding and usage of the Azure DevOps tool as part of the required skillset. The System Analyst 3 is responsible for gathering, documenting, and testing clear, unambiguous business requirements from the client. Understanding the business requirements thoroughly in order to communicate business needs and system functionality to technical and non-technical stakeholders, project team members, and the user community. The System Analyst serves as the ScrumMaster (heavy usage of Azure DevOps tool) on projects and coordinates with the PMO’s Project Manager for artifacts/documentation needed on State of Michigan projects.
The System Analyst is responsible for working with the project team and stakeholders to examine existing and future-state business processes, data, and systems. This information is used to guide the gathering of business requirements and executing test cases as they relate to the desired system functionality.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Develop process flows, use cases, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
- Create test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on requirements.
- Execute functional, integration, and regression testing; log and track defects.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business partners.
- Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and quality standards.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Assist with system demonstrations, training materials, and production validation.
- Ensure documentation remains accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
