In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to improve test coverage, accelerate release cycles, and ensure high-quality mobile application releases.
Candidates must have hands-on mobile automation experience with Appium and Python, along with experience testing both iOS and Android applications.
Mobile Test Automation: Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python, Appium, and Pytest for native iOS and Android applications.
Cloud Device Farm Integration: Configure and execute automated tests on platforms such as BrowserStack, AWS Device Farm, Sauce Labs, or LambdaTest. Optimize parallel execution and troubleshoot device-specific failures.
CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. Implement parallel execution, test stability improvements, and actionable reporting.
Test Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute smoke, regression, end-to-end (E2E), and risk-based test suites to validate application quality across environments.
Mobile Feature Validation: Test complex mobile scenarios involving network connectivity, offline behavior, push notifications, deep links, permissions, application backgrounding, and device compatibility.
Framework Optimization: Apply test automation best practices, including Page Object Model or Screenplay patterns, reusable fixtures, parameterization, test data management, and deterministic execution.
Defect Management: Investigate failures, document defects with clear reproduction steps, and capture logs, screenshots, and videos from device farms. Collaborate with development teams to verify fixes and drive defect resolution.
Debugging & Troubleshooting: Use tools such as Charles Proxy, adb, Android logcat, and Xcode/iOS logs to identify application, network, and device-related issues.
Quality Engineering: Maintain traceability between requirements, user stories, test cases, and automation coverage. Establish quality gates and contribute to release readiness decisions.
Collaboration & Mentoring: Participate in code reviews, share automation best practices, mentor junior QA engineers, and work within Agile/Scrum teams to continuously improve product quality.
5–8 years of overall QA/testing experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on mobile test automation using Appium.
Strong programming skills in Python and practical experience with Pytest, including fixtures, parametrization, markers, command-line options, and reusable test utilities.
Proven experience testing native iOS and Android applications across devices, OS versions, and screen configurations.
Hands-on experience with at least one cloud-based mobile device farm: BrowserStack, AWS Device Farm, Sauce Labs, or LambdaTest.
Experience configuring device capabilities, executing parallel test sessions, analyzing test artifacts, and troubleshooting failures in device farm environments.
Understanding of mobile application build and distribution artifacts, including APK/AAB and IPA, signing, provisioning profiles, and platform-specific behaviors.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools.
Proficiency with Git, branching strategies, version control, and collaborative development workflows.
Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, test design techniques, defect management, regression testing, and release validation.
Experience validating mobile permissions, background/foreground transitions, network conditions, and device-specific functionality.
Excellent analytical, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience with Selenium for related web application testing.
Exposure to API testing using Python Requests or equivalent tools, including REST API validation and basic contract testing.
Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or equivalent.
Understanding of JUnit/TestNG concepts and Maven/Gradle build fundamentals.
Experience with Allure, Extent Reports, HTML reports, or similar test reporting frameworks.
Knowledge of mobile application security testing fundamentals and tools such as Burp Suite.
