SR QA/SDET Test Engineer
Location: Downtown Financial District

We are seeking an experienced SR QA/SDET Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement automated testing solutions for enterprise applications and cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Selenium, SQL, AWS, Databricks, and Spark, along with expertise in API testing, data validation, and CI/CD automation.
This position focuses on ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of applications and data pipelines within a modern AWS cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable test automation frameworks using Java and tools such as Selenium or Cypress.
- Develop automated test suites for application functionality, APIs, data pipelines, and system integration.
- Perform end-to-end data validation, including data ingestion, transformation, profiling, mapping, and reconciliation.
- Write complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across data warehouses and data lakes.
- Test cloud-based data processing workflows using AWS Glue, Databricks, Spark, and Athena.
- Perform API testing using REST services and tools such as Postman.
- Conduct performance and load testing using LoadRunner or similar tools.
- Design and manage test data, including data masking and scenario-based test data creation.
- Integrate automated testing into GitLab CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and DevOps practices.
- Troubleshoot complex application and data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and document defects.
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment to ensure high-quality releases.

Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on programming experience with Java for test automation.
- Experience developing automation frameworks using Selenium, Cypress, or comparable tools.
- Advanced SQL skills and strong understanding of relational databases, data models, and data validation.
- Experience testing ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouse environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Databricks, Athena, and Apache Spark.
- Experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Strong understanding of data profiling, data mapping, data integration, and data quality testing.
- Experience with REST API testing and integration testing.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner.
- Experience working with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Python programming experience.
- Experience with Collibra Data Quality Platform.
- Hands-on experience with Postman.
- Experience building automated testing solutions for large-scale cloud data platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, with a Computer Science major preferred.
