Role: Business Data Analyst

Location: Ottawa, Canada (Hybrid Work Model)

Job Description

We are seeking a Business Data Analyst with strong SQL and Databricks expertise to bridge business and technical teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between the MCDB (SQL) and DEAL (Databricks) platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary liaison between the MCDB (SQL) and DEAL (Databricks) teams.
Analyze SQL code, understand business logic, and translate requirements for downstream enhancements using AI-assisted analysis where applicable.
Collaborate with Reference Data architects, technical leads, and business stakeholders to gather and refine business requirements.
Support Reference Data initiatives within the Databricks ecosystem.
Drive adoption of new technologies through effective stakeholder engagement and influence.
Prepare business requirements, functional documentation, and ensure alignment between business and technical teams.

Required Skills

Strong SQL expertise with the ability to analyze and interpret complex SQL code.
Good understanding of the Databricks ecosystem and Reference Data concepts.
Experience working with data engineering and analytics teams.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
Proven leadership and collaboration skills in enterprise environments.
