Summary

Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Messaging Middleware Administrator with strong hands-on expertise in IBM MQ and Confluent Kafka administration. The ideal candidate will have experience managing enterprise messaging platforms, production environments, monitoring, security, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and high-availability solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, configure, install, upgrade, and maintain IBM MQ environments across distributed platforms.
Manage IBM MQ Queue Managers, queues, channels, listeners, clusters, and related messaging components.
Perform IBM MQ installation, upgrades, patching, configuration, and production support.
Administer Confluent Kafka environments, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Support Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, replication, and cluster health.
Configure and manage SSL/TLS certificates and security for messaging platforms.
Troubleshoot messaging failures, connectivity issues, queue/channel problems, Kafka cluster issues, and performance bottlenecks.
Support IBM IIS (IBM Integration Server) and other enterprise messaging/integration middleware platforms.
Monitor middleware platforms using Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring of messaging infrastructure.
Implement and support high availability, reliability, and disaster recovery solutions.
Develop automation and scripting solutions to simplify administration and operational activities.
Provide test and production environment support and participate in deployment and release activities.
Perform incident management, problem management, root cause analysis (RCA), and issue resolution.
Work with application, infrastructure, DevOps, and development teams to resolve critical production issues.
Maintain operational documentation, configuration standards, and support procedures.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with IBM MQ Administration.
Experience with Confluent Kafka Administration.
Strong knowledge of IBM MQ clustering and distributed messaging systems.
Experience with IBM MQ installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Experience with Kafka installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate management and middleware security.
Experience with IBM IIS / Integration Server.
Hands-on experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Strong knowledge of production support, incident management, RCA, and problem management.
Experience with automation and scripting.
Knowledge of performance tuning, capacity planning, high availability, and reliability engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting large-scale enterprise messaging environments.
Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
Experience with cloud or containerized middleware environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Ability to work in 24x7 production support / on-call environments when required.
