Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead quality assurance and testing efforts for a major enterprise application modernization project. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end validation—testing migrated Java Spring Boot microservices, ReactJS frontends, and converted IBM Cognos BI reports—to ensure complete functional parity, data integrity, and high performance during the transition from a legacy VB.NET and Crystal Reports architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Strategy & Execution: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, detailed test cases, and regression test suites tailored for modernized enterprise applications.
Functional & UI Validation: Validate frontend user interfaces built with ReactJS and ensure seamless functional alignment with legacy VB.NET application behavior.
API & Backend Testing: Conduct REST API, integration, and performance testing for Java Spring Boot services and backend microservices.
BI & Report Verification: Test Cognos BI reports converted from legacy Crystal Reports, performing data reconciliation, query accuracy checks, and visual comparison testing.
Data Migration Testing: Verify data migration fidelity between legacy database structures and target relational databases using SQL queries and data validation scripts.
Defect Lifecycle Management: Identify, document, track, and retest software defects using enterprise issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
Agile Collaboration: Work closely with developers, business analysts, and business stakeholders across System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years of professional software testing and quality engineering experience in complex enterprise environments.
Stack Expertise: Proven experience testing modern web applications built on Java Spring Boot and ReactJS.
Legacy & BI Testing: Experience testing legacy VB.NET systems, Cognos BI reports, and performing end-to-end report data reconciliation.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with SQL for data validation and hands-on experience with REST API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
Process & Tooling: Familiarity with test management tools, defect tracking platforms, and test automation concepts/frameworks.
Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience executing QA strategies for legacy application modernization or system migration projects.
Exposure to automated testing tools and frameworks for ReactJS frontends (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, Jest) or API automation (e.g., RestAssured).
