Location: Southlake, TX (Preferred) | Austin, TX (Secondary Option
Schedule: Hybrid, onsite Monday Thursday, Friday remote

Position Summary
Senior Java AI Developer to design, develop, and modernize enterprise-scale applications supporting critical business capabilities. This role combines deep expertise in Java-based software engineering, cloud-native application development, and AI-assisted software delivery practices.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on senior engineer capable of building scalable, high-performance solutions while leveraging Generative AI tools throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This individual will contribute to architectural design, application modernization, event-driven systems, microservices, cloud deployments, and AI-enabled engineering best practices.

- Java Development Expertise
- Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs, Microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience building scalable, high-volume, highly available enterprise applications.
- AI-Enabled Software Development
- Hands-on experience utilizing GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, GPT, Gemini, or similar technologies.
- Experience applying AI-assisted development practices across design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and automation.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted SDLC practices.
- Cloud & Modern Architecture
- Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications using AWS, Google Cloud Platform, PCF, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong understanding of scalability, resiliency, observability, and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade Java applications using modern software engineering practices.
- Build scalable microservices and REST-based APIs supporting high-volume transaction processing.
- Utilize AI-enabled development tools to accelerate implementation, testing, documentation, code reviews, troubleshooting, and modernization efforts.
- Lead application modernization initiatives from legacy platforms to cloud-native architectures.
- Implement event-driven solutions utilizing Kafka, messaging frameworks, and distributed system design patterns.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD practices, and performance optimization.
- Mentor developers and promote adoption of AI-assisted engineering best practices.
- Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, banking, brokerage, or regulated industries.
- Experience with Large Language Models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.).
- Experience with AI/ML implementations and production deployments.
- Knowledge of event streaming architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with Splunk, observability tools, and production monitoring.
- Experience with Angular, Python, or modern front-end technologies.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), QA automation, and quality engineering practices.
- Experience supporting modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian toolsets.
