Position: Technical Project Manager – Client Lifecycle Management
Location: Toronto, ON or Halifax
Duration: Long Term Contract
Hybrid 2-4 Days Per Week Onsite
Position Overview
Client seeks an experienced Technology Project Manager to lead delivery of client lifecycle management (CLM) initiatives and third-party solutions.
Reporting to the Director of Architecture, you will oversee planning, execution,
and rollout of transformational projects that enhance internal operations and external client capabilities based on client systems and 3rd Party solutions by managing complex technical integrations to ensure successful execution and measurable business value are delivered.
This contract-to-hire role offers the opportunity to demonstrate impact and transition to a permanent position within Client.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Project Delivery
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to anticipate challenges and drive timely resolution.
• Own end-to-end program planning, execution, and delivery within Agile framework; coordinate schedules, manage dependencies, and drive timely completion of all CLM platform modernization milestones.
• Lead cross-functional teams of architects, developers, business analysts, and operations personnel
• Foster collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders across multiple geographies and business units.
• Manage concurrent workstreams covering internal solutions, 3rd party systems, and infrastructure deployment; track interdependencies to maintain program flow.
Technical Leadership & Architecture Support
• Understanding of software architecture, systems integration, and third-party tooling to inform decisions and technical communication.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions; participate in architecture reviews and evaluate design feasibility across NodeJS, Python, Kafka, AWS S3 integration.
• Assess technical decisions and platform capabilities; identify technical risks early and recommend mitigation strategies aligned with client technology standards and security frameworks.
• Oversee infrastructure deployment on Cloud infrastructure; ensure microservices communications leverage TLS 1.3 and security protocols meet data classification standards.
Data Management & Regulatory Compliance
• Oversee data migration strategy ensuring integrity throughout transformation; coordinate metadata extraction, document versioning, encryption protocols, and audit trail requirements across all system components.
• Align program activities with compliance and risk teams; ensure adherence to regulatory obligations, standards, and capital markets operational requirements.
• Manage data governance throughout CLM program including document lifecycle management, metadata handling
Stakeholder Communication & Risk Management
• Develop and maintain communication plans for executive sponsors, business leadership, and operational teams; deliver high-impact status reports and actionable insights for informed decision-making.
• Establish and monitor comprehensive risk registers; implement mitigation strategies and provide proactive escalation of issues impacting program delivery, budget, or regulatory compliance.
Process Optimization & Agile Implementation
• Champion Agile methodologies across program lifecycle; conduct sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions to optimize team velocity and delivery.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and Jira dashboards for tracking progress, identifying bottlenecks, and measuring program health; continuously identify process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Mentor team members on Agile best practices, technical requirements translation, and quality standards; build capability across team to support long-term program success.
Vendor Management:
• Experience managing SLAs and maintaining productive external partnerships.
• Maintain drive implementation plan with vendor and client teams
Required Qualifications & Expertise
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
• PMP (Program Management Professional), SAFe Program Consultant, or advanced certifications in cloud architecture or data governance.
• Specific experience with data and document management platform migrations, or legacy system replacements in capital markets.
• Domain expertise in implementing metadata management and document lifecycle solutions.
• Prior exposure to systems, organizational structure, or existing capital markets applications.
Project Management Expertise
• Minimum 7-10 years progressive experience in project and program management within financial services or similarly complex enterprise environments.
• Active PMP, PRINCE2, or CSM certification; demonstrated success delivering large-scale technology transformation initiatives with budgets exceeding $5M.
• Proficiency with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and Waterfall methodologies; proven ability to adapt frameworks based on program complexity and organizational context.
Technical Competency
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and cloud platforms; familiarity with microservices architectures and event-driven systems.
• Hands-on experience with program technology stack: Python/NodeJS, Javascript, MongoDB, Redis Cache, Apache Kafka, AWS S3, and REST API design on Cloud and non-cloud infrastructure
• Understanding document management platforms, content service architecture, and metadata extraction/indexing technologies; experience with system integration and API gateway design.
Financial Services Domain Knowledge
• Mandatory experience in capital markets operations, payments systems, or settlement/reconciliation workflows; knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with AML, KYC, sanctions screening, and data governance within regulated financial environments.
• Understanding of capital markets asset classes and business model.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Proven ability to manage and mentor teams of 8–15 people; experience providing technical guidance while building team capabilities and fostering psychological safety.
• Demonstrated excellence managing stakeholders across multiple organizational levels, business units, and geographic regions
• Strong executive presence and communication skills.
• Track record of delivering complex programs on time and within budget while maintaining high stakeholder satisfaction.
