Overview The Security Strategic & Ops Analytics team supports business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to leadership via dashboards and reports. The team uses innovative data analytic techniques to drive efficiency in Fraud Operations and highlight opportunities for the Fraud Detection team.
Potential Summer Associate projects may include:
- Build out a centralized risk assessment dashboard that provides a comprehensive, 360-degree view of a member's or applicant's risk profile. Users can search to instantly view consolidated risk indicators from across multiple fraud, identity verification, and security monitoring systems.
- Build a proactive ID Theft dashboard to highlight detection opportunities for countermeasure creation.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
Responsibilities - Follow standard procedures to create and/or update basic reports and dashboards
- Identify trends or patterns and help prepare ongoing reports and data visualizations in order to support business decisions
- Contribute to reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems
- Partner with leaders and senior staff to define specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements
- Support and participate in team projects and initiatives
- Utilize and adhere to data governance documents and procedures; alert manager if an inconsistency or inaccuracy is discovered during the course of reporting or analysis
Qualifications - Junior/Senior undergraduate or master's level student working towards a degree in business administration, statistics, or related field
- Preferred internship analyst or full-time experience in data analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with business intelligence applications and/or cloud services
- Familiarity with reporting capabilities of existing ERP, CRM and/or database software vendors
- Familiarity with querying and/or programming for data analysis
- Basic understanding of visualization & reporting components
- Knowledge of statistical methods, mathematical techniques, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis
