Work Arrangement: 3 day in office with 2 day WFH

About the Role
This data analytics team builds and maintains the stock trading platform. They are looking for a Senior Apache Spark Developer to build out the real-time processing layer on top of their existing Kafka and AMPS messaging setup. This role will focus on streaming analytics, system performance monitoring, and helping migrate on-premises data workloads over to AWS and Databricks.
Must Haves:
- Must-Have #1: Apache Spark Development & Optimization
- Minimum years / depth: 5+ years hands-on development
- Specific tools/systems: Spark SQL, Structured Streaming, DataFrames/Datasets, and performance tuning for batch/streaming jobs
- Must-Have #2: Spark & Streaming Integration
- Minimum years / depth: Senior-level experience building Spark-on-Kafka integrations
- Specific tools/systems: Apache Kafka, AMPS, and real-time stream processing
- Must-Have #3: Core Programming
- Minimum years / depth: Production-level development skills
- Specific tools/systems: Python and Java
- Must-Have #4: Distributed Systems & Ops
- Minimum years / depth: Experience building and troubleshooting large data platforms
- Specific tools/systems: Relational/distributed databases, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring
Day to Day:
On a daily basis, this engineer builds and tunes Spark applications that run on top of Kafka and AMPS. They write clean Python and Java code to process streaming and batch data, troubleshoot performance issues across distributed systems, and set up CI/CD pipelines and monitoring. They also work closely with platform architects to help move existing data pipelines over to Databricks and AWS.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: 60$-65$ per hour
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
