Job Description
We are seeking a talented Java Developer with 5+ years of experience in developing enterprise applications for Banking and Financial Services clients. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable backend applications while working closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Candidates with experience in Banking, Financial Services, Capital Markets, or Payments domains are highly preferred. Exposure to AI-powered applications and Large Language Model (LLM) integrations is a plus but not required.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Java Application Development
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Microservices architecture
- Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and web services
- Experience with Hibernate/JPA
- Experience working with SQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Design Patterns
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Capital Markets, or Payments domain
- Experience with Apache Kafka or other messaging platforms
- Exposure to Redis or MongoDB
- Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Experience with JUnit and Mockito
- Exposure to OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or similar AI services
- Knowledge of Prompt Engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Spring AI, or LangChain4j
- Exposure to OpenShift
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications using Spring Boot.
- Develop secure and scalable RESTful APIs and Microservices.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Integrate applications with relational databases and enterprise systems.
- Deploy and support cloud-native applications using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Participate in code reviews and follow software engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines following DevOps best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to application modernization initiatives and continuously learn emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
- Experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring technologies.
- Banking or Financial Services domain experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
