Job Overview:
As a Dimensional Engineer on the hardware team, you will support the development and production of state-of-the-art mechanical designs, structures, mechanisms, and sensor integration solutions that will create transformative experiences for Virtual and Augmented Reality users. You will be part of a team exploring new concepts through analytical modeling and fast iterative prototyping. This role involves working on cutting-edge technologies with a diverse cross-functional team of engineers and scientists pioneering mechanical, electrical, optical, materials, firmware, software, and computer vision solutions. Responsibilities:

• Lead or contribute to geometry control solutions as part of a team, including 3D dimensional analysis and datum coordination to support functional and manufacturing build strategies.
• Lead tolerance analysis and GD&T development efforts with the design team, developing and sharing best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate concepts and detailed designs.
• Apply rigorous variation simulation modeling to solve challenging design problems.
• Contribute to robust measurement plan execution by supporting gage R&R studies with suppliers, authoring/reviewing MSOPs, and collaborating with metrology teams.

Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience.
• Experience developing 3D variation simulation analyses using one or more of the following software packages: Siemens VA (VisVSA), 3DCS, CETOL.
• 5+ years of industry/academic experience.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing techniques (machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.).
• Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5), tolerance analysis, and associated metrology.
• Experience working on design teams throughout the product lifecycle (concept to start of production).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of dimensional engineering experience, specifically with the application of GD&T and development of 3D variation simulation analyses (VisVSA preferred).
• 3+ years working on high-volume products such as consumer tech, automotive, aerospace, consumer appliances, or medical devices.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling (NX preferred).
• Experience creating scripts or algorithms to support measurement data analysis and assembly simulation requirements.
• Knowledge of Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Gage R&R, and other statistical methods required to support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
• Experience using Minitab, Quantum XL, JMP, or other statistical software.

Pay Range: $80- $90
