We are actively recruiting a Service Desk Technician for our client in Knoxville, TN. This is a contract opportunity that will require working onsite in Knoxville full-time. The schedule for this position is second shift, 3:30 PM to Midnight, with some weekend coverage required.

This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys helping others, solving technical problems, and working as part of a collaborative team. Must have 1-2 years of technical support experience, strong customer service skills, and a foundational understanding of Microsoft-based technologies.

Due to client request, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Position Overview

The Service Desk Technician will provide technical support for users across a large operational environment, assisting with hardware, software, application, and system-related issues. Successful candidates will combine strong troubleshooting abilities with a customer-focused approach to deliver exceptional support and ensure business operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support and issue resolution for end users.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, application, and operational issues.
Monitor system alerts and respond to technology-related incidents.
Document support requests, troubleshooting efforts, and resolutions.
Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams when necessary.
Perform software installations, updates, maintenance, and system support activities.
Maintain knowledge base articles and support documentation.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues.
Deliver professional, high-quality customer service while supporting business operations.
Follow established IT policies, procedures, and security standards.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
1-2 years of Help Desk, Service Desk, Technical Support, or customer-facing technology support experience.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Hardware and software troubleshooting
Ticketing and incident management systems
Remote support tools
Networking fundamentals
Technical documentation and knowledge management
