Full Pay Range: $111,303.92 to $166,956.14
Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker's gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.

The Database Administration Manager is responsible for leading the organization's database administration team and ensuring the availability, security, performance, and reliability of enterprise database platforms. This leader oversees day-to-day database operations, drives strategic database initiatives, and partners with technology and business teams to deliver stable, scalable, and secure data solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Database Administrators.
- Manage the administration and support of SQL Server, Azure SQL, and related database platforms.
- Ensure database availability, performance, security, backup, recovery, and overall operational health.
- Drive database monitoring, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with high availability and disaster recovery planning, testing, and readiness activities.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Development, and Data Services teams on enterprise projects and initiatives.
- Manage database technology roadmaps, vendor relationships, licensing, and budgeting activities.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex database issues and critical incidents.
- Establish and maintain database standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Promote operational excellence while ensuring database services support current and future business needs.
QualificationsRequired- Post-secondary degree in Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of database administration experience in enterprise environments.
- 5+ years of leadership or people management experience.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- Experience with database security, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Experience managing technology budgets, software licensing, and vendor relationships.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred- Experience managing SQL Server and Azure SQL environments at enterprise scale.
- Experience leading database modernization, migration, or platform improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing technology roadmaps and participating in strategic planning activities.
- Knowledge of database monitoring, governance, compliance, and security practices.
- Relevant Microsoft or database administration certifications.
Work Schedule- Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required to support planned maintenance, system upgrades, critical incidents, or business initiatives.
