Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Qualification of new molds for plastic injection molded parts and new suppliers or processes for machined components, including part and assembly design.
- Manufacturing and supplier quality support for automated test and assembly processes
- Finished device test method development and fixture design for electromechanical systems.
Previous experience in the following technical areas preferred.
- Extensive plastic injection molding part design and qualification experience
- 5+ years in CAD (Creo preferred) part modeling and design experience and surface modeling a plus
- 5+ years GD&T experience with ability to communicate to suppliers on metrology, fixturing, and control plans
- Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) or similar experience
- Experience as a mechanical design engineer in the medical device industry
