QA Engineer - Video Streaming
Playback & Automation

Summary

Seeking a Quality Engineer focusing on video streaming and playback QA to join a fast paced media technology team. This role is focused on ensuring best in class playback performance, reliability, and user experience across a large cross platform streaming ecosystem.

The role is contract-to-hire and open to remote candidates, with a preference for those open to occasional onsite interaction in the LA OR NYC area.

Responsibilities:

The Quality Engineer II will be responsible for:

Owning and expanding cross-platform player testing strategy with a focus on automation

Designing and maintaining scalable automated test suites

Improving test coverage and reducing manual regression cycles

Validating QoE metrics and different playback types

Leading QA efforts across various platforms

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in video playback streaming QA

BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Experience with automated test frameworks

Strong troubleshooting skills

Knowledge of streaming technologies like DRM, HLS, and DASH

Ability to work with cross-functional teams

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Drive issues to resolution

Provide root cause analysis if needed

Desired Skills:

3+ years of experience in a relevant field

Familiarity with streaming technology certifications

Automation testing expertise

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
