Position Summary: We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and maintain a cloud-based telematics platform supporting connected commercial vehicle products.
This is a hands-on engineering role with significant ownership across backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, data processing, partner integrations, and internal applications. You will work across an established .NET and Azure environment while helping design and deliver the next generation of platform capabilities.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, making technical decisions, collaborating directly with stakeholders, and owning solutions from initial requirements through deployment and production support.
Position Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using C# and modern .NET.
- Build and support high-volume telemetry and IoT data processing systems.
- Develop REST, gRPC, GraphQL, and real-time service integrations.
- Design and optimize SQL Server databases, queries, and data access patterns.
- Build and maintain integrations with external customers, technology partners, and third-party platforms.
- Develop and maintain client SDKs and shared libraries used across internal and external applications.
- Support cloud infrastructure and application services hosted in Microsoft Azure.
- Build and maintain asynchronous processing workflows using messaging, events, queues, and background services.
- Develop internal web applications and operational tools using Blazor and ASP.NET Core.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, and service-to-service communication.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
- Monitor production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and improve platform reliability and performance.
- Work directly with product, support, operations, customers, and integration partners to gather requirements and design solutions.
- Help improve technical documentation and engineering practices across the platform.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of professional software development experience with strong expertise in C#, modern .NET and ASP.NET Core, backend API design and development, and SQL Server/T-SQL, including experience optimizing queries and working with large datasets. The role also requires hands-on experience with Entity Framework Core or similar data access technologies, as well as deploying and supporting production applications in Microsoft Azure.
Candidates should have experience building distributed systems using messaging, queues, background processing, or event-driven architectures, along with designing and consuming REST APIs. A solid understanding of authentication and authorization technologies, including JWT, OAuth, API keys, and role- or policy-based access control, is important. Experience with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD pipelines is also required.
The successful candidate should be comfortable independently designing solutions, working through ambiguous technical challenges, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with IoT, telematics, connected vehicles, high-volume telemetry, Azure cloud services, gRPC, GraphQL, SignalR, Blazor, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Entra ID, CAN bus, firmware or over-the-air deployment, diagnostics, reporting systems, or other hardware-connected software technologies is highly desirable.
