Hiring for QA Lead @ MN

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Test Lead with deep experience in the healthcare insurance sector to lead our software quality assurance team. In this role, you will define test strategies and oversee the end-to-end verification of critical payer systems, including claims processing, enrollment, finance, billing, and member/provider portals. You will work with a team of QA engineers, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and collaborate with developers and business analysts to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing applications.
Key Responsibilities Healthcare & Domain-Specific Testing

Validate core insurance flows: Oversee the SIT, UAT and end-to-end testing of finance and premium billing, and other systems.
Manage EDI data integration: Direct and perform validation on healthcare EDI transactions, ensuring accurate processing of data types such as 834 (Enrollment), 837 (Claims), and 835 (Remittance).
Ensure regulatory compliance: Verify that all applications and data handling practices strictly comply with HIPAA, ACA (Affordable Care Act), privacy and security rules.
Perform heavy backend data validation: Lead complex SQL data verification efforts to ensure database integrity across complex provider networks and legacy systems.

Leadership & Strategy

Develop test plans: Create comprehensive test strategies, resource allocations, and timelines for major system implementations and upgrades.
Mentor and guide teams: Work with a team of manual and automation QA engineers, assigning daily tasks and conducting reviews of test artifacts.
Coordinate defect triage: Facilitate defect review meetings with developers, business analysts, and product owners to prioritize and resolve software bugs.
Report quality metrics: Deliver clear release-readiness reports and test execution metrics to project leadership and compliance officers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of software testing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role, specifically within the healthcare insurance or payer industry.
Domain Knowledge: Expert understanding of healthcare payer business workflows and electronic data interchange (EDI) standard formats.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with SQL for backend database validation and experience implementing or overseeing test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
Tools: Expert familiarity with test management and bug tracking ecosystems like Jira and QMetry.
Compliance Knowledge: Clear understanding of HIPAA regulations, PHI data masking techniques, and healthcare compliance guidelines.
