Location: MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a senior Business Data Analyst to support a large-scale data environment migration from Teradata to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This is not a Data Engineer role. The position involves consulting on complex data management initiatives, gathering requirements from business users, performing in-depth data analysis, and partnering with stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle to ensure deliverables meet function, policy, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather requirements directly from business users for production issues and enhancement requests.
- Perform data profiling and complex data analysis to address multifaceted data management challenges.
- Write, review, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development teams.
- Create and maintain documentation for data designs and processes.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and conduct post-production validation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and developers to resolve complex situations.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- 5+ years of experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management.
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) data environments is required. Candidates must be able to discuss best practices and lessons learned.
- Experience working with large-scale data warehouses and analytics platforms.
Technical Skills:- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write, read, and troubleshoot complex queries.
- Experience with BigQuery is strongly preferred.
- Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and data analysis skills.
- Experience with data quality, validation, and reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise data products and analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of data governance and data lineage concepts.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.
- Background in Banking, Financial Services, Risk, or Compliance domains.
- Experience with Dataplex.
