Job Summary

The Client is seeking a Substitute Teacher with a valid Tennessee teaching license. The Substitute Teacher will work under the supervision of the Assistant Principal and educational administrative team to maintain classroom instruction, student supervision, and daily school routines when the regular teacher or educational assistant is unavailable.

Key Responsibilities

Follow lesson plans and assume the duties of the classroom teacher or educational assistant.
Maintain normal classroom routines and provide a positive learning environment.
Supervise students at all times and address classroom needs appropriately.
Perform additional duties as assigned, including lunchroom, bus, hall, or other school duties.
Familiarize yourself with school emergency procedures and student medical needs.
Report major discipline issues to the appropriate building-level administrator immediately.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information, observations, and conversations.
Report to the educational office upon arrival each morning and after dismissal.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Two years of college or a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Valid Tennessee teaching license required.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing classroom needs.
Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality.
Experience working with children with special needs is preferred.

Background & Fingerprinting Requirements
