Senior Full Stack Developer – AI-Enabled Banking Applications
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and views AI-assisted development as a core engineering capability. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable applications that support critical commercial and consumer banking capabilities.
You will work across the full software development lifecycle—from architecture and prototyping through development, testing, deployment, and production support—while leveraging modern cloud platforms, AI-enabled development tools, data technologies, and emerging architectural patterns.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on "doer" who can translate business needs into high-quality technology solutions, make informed decisions with imperfect information, and move quickly while maintaining strong standards for security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Principal Responsibilities
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate application design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
- Design and develop secure, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces using modern web frameworks such as React or Angular, ensuring a consistent experience across devices.
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, integrations, microservices, and RESTful APIs using C#/.NET and/or Python.
- Design and implement solutions supporting a broad range of banking capabilities, including client onboarding, payments, fraud detection, servicing, lending, and other digital banking experiences.
- Own the software development lifecycle from initial concept and prototyping through architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with Cloud Infrastructure teams to support reliable application deployment across environments.
- Design solutions with appropriate considerations for security, performance, scalability, resiliency, observability, and cost optimization (FinOps).
- Produce clear technical documentation and architecture artifacts to support design reviews, operational handoffs, deployment, and ongoing production support.
- Troubleshoot, debug, optimize, and modernize existing applications and integrations.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, cloud infrastructure, data, security, operations, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Stay current with emerging AI, cloud, software engineering, and application architecture practices and identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity and delivery.
Other Responsibilities
- Comply with all applicable regulations and requirements related to BSA, the USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC.
- Complete required annual BSA training and report suspected criminal activity or attempts to circumvent BSA reporting requirements to the AML/BSA Compliance Department.
- For supervisory roles, ensure required BSA training is completed by applicable staff.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
AI-Assisted Development
- Demonstrated experience using AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to use AI effectively for design exploration, coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, documentation, and technical problem-solving.
- Strong understanding of prompt engineering and structured AI interaction techniques to consistently produce reliable, secure, maintainable code.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated output and apply sound software engineering judgment rather than relying on generated code without review.
Backend & API Development
- Strong proficiency in C#/.NET and Python for backend services, integrations, automation, and application development.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and integration patterns.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, maintainable server-side applications.
Frontend Development
- Strong experience building modern, secure web applications using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with at least one modern frontend framework, such as React or Angular.
- Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, frontend security, and modern user experience principles.
Data & Integration
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Knowledge of BLOB/object storage, caching technologies, messaging systems, and event-driven/pub-sub architectures.
- Ability to design data and integration solutions that support scalability, reliability, and performance.
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Experience with Microsoft Azure preferred; AWS experience is also valuable.
- Required experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with source control and collaboration platforms such as Git and GitHub.
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, cloud deployment, monitoring, observability, and infrastructure considerations.
- Awareness of cloud cost management and FinOps principles.
Financial Services & Business Knowledge
- Financial Services industry experience is required.
- Experience in commercial banking, consumer banking, lending, payments, fraud, or digital banking is strongly preferred.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into secure, scalable technology solutions.

Education & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 7–9 years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer or Software Engineer.
- Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools, including tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
- Strong experience developing frontend web applications and backend services.
- Hands-on experience with microservices architectures, RESTful API design, containerization, and orchestration technologies.
- Experience working with cloud technologies and modern software development practices.
- Professional experience within the Financial Services industry.
Preferred
- Master's or other advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working in banking, payments, or financial services.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Azure cloud services and modern cloud-native architectures.
- Experience delivering production applications in highly regulated or security-sensitive environments.
