The Gas Engineer II coordinates field and office compliance efforts throughout regions. Works with various levels of management and operations to maintain and manage facilities such as: integrity risk assessments, system inspections, repair and prevention plans, record keeping, and identification of all capital and O&M projects necessary to maintain compliance.
Essential Functions- Apply value analysis to make maintenance/capital decisions, i.e. repair replace and repair redesign for gas distribution systems.
- Use software tools to: analyze asset histories, identify specific repetitive leak failures and effectively address identified areas.
- Review all leak failures, determine root causes, and recommend actions to improve system reliability.
- Directs, advises, and coordinates with engineering and operations personnel to execute assessment testing schedule on all capital and O&M projects related to transmission facilities.
- Oversees data management of existing facilities, field inspections, repairs, and manages replacements of all facilities.
- Development and refinement of appropriate relative risk based preventative/predictive maintenance programs for gas transmission systems.
- Coordinate efforts with Operations, Engineering and Compliance to ensure that correct preventative and predictive maintenance activities and inspections are performed when due.
Education Description- Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil or other approved engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience- Requires a minimum of two (2) years experience in one of the following areas: gas engineering, operations, utility design or related project construction design.
