Role Overview
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to oversee the creation of hybrid software, web, and hardware products. This role involves managing the development cycle from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. The position focuses on integrating various network operating systems, application programs, and hardware devices, requiring a comprehensive perspective on project details including cost, schedules, and technical aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate various network operating systems, application programs, and hardware devices.
- Manage the full development cycle for software, hardware, and web applications, including specification, design, coding, testing, and maintenance.
- Oversee the creation of hybrid software, web, and hardware products.
- Focus on the "big picture" of a project while managing technical details.
- Consider project elements such as cost, schedules, and potential social issues.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
Experience: 7+ years of experience with general IT and extensive experience with RHEL 8 and automation.
Technical Skills: IAT Level II certification (Security+)
Location Requirement: Must be located within commuting distance of one of the Network Operations Centers (Norfolk, San Diego, or Pearl Harbor) to support classified physical access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large enterprise environments in a hybrid cloud setting.
- Experience with RHEL 6 and RHEL 7.
- Experience with Scaled Agile methodology.
- Azure and VMware experience.
- Linux certification.
- Experience with testing and implementation in a secure environment.
- Ansible Automation, Satellite, AAP, and scripting experience.
