Role: Structural Analysis Engineer 3/4 - Systems Stress
Location: North Charleston, South Carolina (Onsite)
Contract Duration: 12 Months (Potential to Extend)
Schedule: On site 5 days per week
MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Typically looking for candidates with 9 10+ years of aerospace experience
- Strong background in Structural Analysis and/or Stress Analysis.
- Aerospace engineering experience preferred.
- Aircraft interiors or aircraft structures experience highly preferred.
Role Overview
This position involves performing aircraft structural stress analysis for a leading aerospace organization. The role requires evaluating designs to ensure structural integrity and compliance while supporting aircraft development, production, and engineering activities. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and contribute to the growth of the engineering capability, with senior engineers expected to mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform lead-level stress analysis on aircraft systems commodities.
- Utilize classical hand analysis, Finite Element tools, and Dynamic Simulation methods for stress analysis.
- Guide product design and verify structural integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead the development of test plans, support test execution, and analyze results to verify system and component requirements.
- Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements to establish system design.
- Define and document certification and test results for customers and regulatory agencies.
- Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
- Mentor and train developing team members.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.
Experience:
- Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience, 3+ years in stress analysis on airplane systems, and 1+ year using classical hand analysis methods.
- Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience, 5+ years in stress analysis on airplane systems, and 3+ years using classical hand analysis methods.
Technical Skills:
- Experience in aircraft stress analysis and the aerospace industry.
- Background in structural analysis engineering.
- Experience supporting aircraft structures, heavy structures, hardware systems, or interiors manufacturing/production systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Level 4 engineer.
- Experience leading the development of certification-related documentation.
- Prior mentoring or leadership responsibilities.
- Experience leading structural test programs on airplane systems commodities.
- Experience with supplier technical oversight.
- 7+ years of experience with airplane systems structures such as Avionics, Electrical Equipment & Installation, Environment Control Systems, Flight Controls, Flight Deck, Fuel Systems, and Mechanical/Hydraulic Systems.
