Job DescriptionHill International is seeking a Constructability Review Engineer in Orlando, FloridaThe Constructability Review Engineer is responsible for evaluating highway and roadway design plans during the planning, design, and pre-construction phases to ensure projects can be efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively constructed. This role serves as the bridge between design and construction teams by identifying potential construction issues, conflicts, risks, and opportunities for improvement before construction begins.
The ideal candidate possesses experience in bridge and highway construction methods, maintenance of traffic, utility coordination, and construction staging.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities- Perform constructability reviews for roadway, highway, bridge, interchange, and transportation infrastructure projects.
- Review engineering plans at 30%, 60%, 90% and Bid stage to identify potential construction challenges and risks.
- Evaluate construction sequencing, phasing plans, traffic maintenance and staging strategies.
- Assess temporary traffic control plans for constructability and operational effectiveness.
- Identify design conflicts, schedule risks, utility impacts, access constraints, and potential construction inefficiencies.
- Provide recommendations to improve constructability, safety, quality, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications- Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in highway, roadway, or transportation infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in construction of transportation projects.
- Experience conducting constructability reviews on DOT, municipal, or major transportation projects.
- Thorough understanding of highway construction methods and sequencing.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale DOT/Toll Road programs
- Experience with FDOT and/or Florida Toll Agencies
- Experience on projects involving highways, interchanges, managed lanes, or major roadway reconstruction.
