As our Staff Test Engineer, you'll support HID's success by: - Leading the identification, definition, promotion, and integration of quality assurance best practices and standards across product lifecycle phases, including PI Planning and organizational infrastructure.
- Defining, planning, developing, acquiring, deploying, and executing quality assurance processes, methods, test automation tools, metrics, and procedures that support the delivery of defect-free products and services.
- Performing problem determination and defect tracking using tools such as TestRail.
- Identifying, developing, and maintaining automated testing solutions and frameworks.
- Defining and monitoring quality assurance metrics, including defect and open bug tracking.
- Planning and tracking quality assurance projects while providing regular status updates to leadership.
- Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and training across quality assurance disciplines.
- Partnering with engineering and product teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Analyzing requirements and functional specifications to develop quality assurance plans, test cases, test scripts, scenarios, use cases, and test environments.
- Performing technical risk assessments and predictive analysis using quality metrics and data-driven insights.
- Staying current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and quality assurance best practices.
- Supporting the delivery of secure, reliable, and high-quality biometric identity solutions for critical U.S. government programs.
Your Experience and Background include: - Strong understanding of software quality assurance methodologies and processes used to deliver high-quality, defect-free products and services.
- Hands-on software testing experience, including working with test tools, defect reporting, and defect tracking systems
- Knowledge of networking concepts, internet technologies, and software testing best practices.
- Experience translating business and technical requirements into quality assurance plans, test cases, test scripts, test scenarios, use cases, and test environments.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and troubleshoot software defects using analytical methods and testing tools throughout the product lifecycle.
- Experience defining and applying quality metrics, building quality models, conducting predictive analysis, and performing technical risk assessments.
- Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate effectively within cross-functional team environments.
- Experience providing technical guidance, mentoring, and training to team members.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment under general supervision.
- Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent work experience, at least five years of industry experience, including a minimum of three years working within a quality assurance organization is preferred.
- Strong understanding of software quality assurance methodologies, processes, and metrics is preferred.
