This job opening is for a Transport Engineer Specialist II, III or IV depending on business need and applicant's qualifications and experience. Qualification and experience will determine the applicant's position and pay. Position DescriptionTransport Engineer Specialist II or III:Performs advanced and specialized drafting, calculations and design work; performs field work; uses automated systems; learns
specialized techniques; trains and reviews the work of others. Design activity is overseen by a licensed professional engineer or
registered architect who has final approval authority for projects. [Employees at this level establish their own work plan and
priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence and serve as a leader
Transport Engineer Specialist IV:Provides highly skilled technical expertise and oversees multiple design and/or advanced building construction projects. Reports
to a licensed professional engineer or registered architect who has final approval authority for projects. Work requires contact
with governmental agencies, consultants and construction firms. May serve as lead worker.
Essential Duties Transport Engineer Specialist II, III or IV:- Reviews entire sets of plans for format, drafting and calculation errors and correlation of plans and specifications.
- Writes general notes, specifications and provisions.
- Performs advanced and specialized design work.
- Prepares roadway design, traffic control, lighting, signal, and building plans.
- Trains less experienced technicians.
- Uses additional automated design tools or specialized design procedures in areas including bridge/culvert detailing,
traffic management, geometric design, signal lighting design, retaining walls and building design.

traffic management, geometric design, signal lighting design, retaining walls and building design.

Minimum Qualifications:Education for Transport Engineer Specialist II, III or IV:: High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
Experience: Transport Engineer Specialist II: 7 YEARS Drafting, design, plan preparation
Transport Engineer Specialist III: 8 YEARS Drafting, design, plan preparation
Transport Engineer Specialist IV: 9 YEARS Drafting, design, plan preparation
(Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:- Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions
