Job Requirements Job Description: Lead Data EngineerLocation: Davenport IA (3 days a week onsite)Role OverviewWe are seeking a Lead Data Engineer– Data Services to lead the delivery of data-focused initiatives across the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance ecosystem. This role combines technical leadership, solution design, hands-on development, project delivery, and people management. Key ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end delivery of Data Services initiatives, including planning, estimation, execution, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication.Translate business and data requirements into scalable solution designs, data flows, integration patterns, and technical approaches.Participate in coding, SQL development, API/integration development, data transformation, troubleshooting, and technical POCs as required.Work with architects and engineering teams to define data models, pipelines, and data integration solutions.Apply knowledge of P&C insurance processes, products, systems, and data domains to drive practical and business-aligned solutions.Lead and mentor two direct reports, manage work allocation, provide technical guidance, and support their professional development.Drive planning, backlog prioritization, estimation, daily execution, issue resolution, and delivery tracking.Collaborate with Data Services Lead, Enterprise Architects, Business teams, Engineering teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely delivery.Improve data processes, engineering practices, and overall delivery efficiency.Required Qualifications7- 10 years of experience in technology delivery, technical project management, data engineering, business systems, or a related discipline.3+ years of experience working in a technical delivery, Technical PM, Technical Lead, Data Lead, or similar role.Hands-on experience with SQL and data manipulation; ability to read, understand, and contribute to code.Experience with data integration, APIs, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and distributed data environments.Ability to create and communicate solution designs, data flows, integration architectures, and technical approaches.Experience working with cloud/data technologies such as AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
