This is an excellent opportunity for a recent technology graduate or junior IT professional who has foundational knowledge of servers, networking, security, or application support and is interested in developing experience within a large enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor digital certificates and identify certificates approaching expiration.
Maintain an accurate inventory of certificates, expiration dates, system locations, and responsible application owners.
Submit and track requests for new, renewed, or replacement certificates.
Coordinate certificate renewals with application, infrastructure, middleware, network, and security teams.
Assist with installing and replacing certificates on supported systems and platforms.
Validate certificates after installation to confirm that applications and system connections are operating correctly.
Provide initial troubleshooting for SSL/TLS errors, certificate warnings, trust-chain issues, and expired or improperly configured certificates.
Escalate complex certificate, encryption, or production issues to senior engineers or security specialists.
Follow established change-management procedures when updating certificates in development, testing, and production environments.
Create and maintain process documentation, renewal instructions, inventories, and operational runbooks.
Update assigned incidents, service requests, and change tickets in the organization’s IT service-management platform.
Support internal audit, security, and compliance requirements by maintaining complete and accurate records.
Identify opportunities to improve or automate certificate monitoring and renewal processes.
Provide basic operational support for enterprise tools and middleware platforms as needed.
Required Qualifications
Six months to two years of experience in IT support, systems administration, network operations, application support, cybersecurity, or a related technical area.
Foundational understanding of digital certificates, SSL/TLS, encryption, or secure network communications.
Basic familiarity with Windows or Linux operating systems.
Ability to follow documented technical procedures and change-management requirements.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to track multiple expiration dates, requests, and assignments.
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with application owners, engineers, security personnel, and other technical teams.
Willingness and ability to learn certificate-management and middleware technologies.
