Our client, a leading aerospace and defense technology organization, is seeking aPrincipal Mechanical Design Engineerto join their team. You will be part of the Legacy Engines & APU Structures Group within the Component Design & Analysis (CDA) Directorate, supporting engine design, analysis, and cross-functional engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, leadership and mentoring experience, and excellent communication and collaboration abilities, which will align successfully within the organization.

What?s the Job?
\t- Design, develop, and analyze static gas turbine engine components, including performing stress, vibration, and heat transfer analyses. \t
- Provide technical expertise across engine and power systems programs while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and customer requirements. \t
- Lead engineering activities such as design reviews, project planning, resource coordination, and technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders. \t
- Support the disposition of discrepant hardware and provide engineering solutions for mechanical design challenges. \t
- Mentor junior engineers, drive continuous process improvements, and ensure accurate documentation of engineering work.
What?s Needed?
\t- Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with 8+ years of relevant mechanical design experience. \t
- Strong experience with structural mechanics of static components, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and dispositioning discrepant hardware. \t
- Experience estimating engineering efforts, planning technical work, and leading engineering projects. \t
- Proven ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers while working effectively in cross-functional teams. \t
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
