Job Description

We are seeking a Senior B2B EDI Engineer with strong, recent, hands-on experience in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (B2Bi). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise B2B/EDI integrations, including EDI mapping, trading partner onboarding, secure communication protocols, and production support.

This position requires deep technical expertise in the IBM Sterling B2B suite. Generic EDI experience without strong IBM Sterling B2Bi experience will not be sufficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and support enterprise B2B/EDI solutions using IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (B2Bi).
• Develop and maintain EDI maps, business processes, and workflows using Sterling Map Editor, GPM, and BPML.
• Configure and support inbound and outbound EDI transaction processing.
• Manage trading partner onboarding, including partner profiles, agreements, envelopes, code lists, routing, and connectivity.
• Configure and support communication protocols including AS2, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, Connect, and MQ.
• Manage certificates, encryption/decryption, digital signatures, and secure B2B communications.
• Develop and support EDI transformations involving ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, JSON, CSV, and flat-file formats.
• Troubleshoot failed EDI transactions, business process errors, mapping issues, and connectivity failures.
• Provide L2/L3 production support, root-cause analysis, incident resolution, and preventive solutions.
• Integrate IBM Sterling with enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, ERP, WMS, TMS, Supply Chain, and cloud applications.
• Support REST/SOAP APIs and XML/JSON/file-based integrations.
• Participate in Sterling platform deployments, upgrades, migrations, modernization, and automation initiatives.
• Work closely with business, application, infrastructure, and external trading partner teams to resolve integration issues.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of recent hands-on IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (B2Bi) experience – Mandatory
• 7+ years of overall B2B/EDI integration experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • IBM Sterling B2B Integrator
  • Sterling File Gateway (SFG)
  • Sterling Control Center
  • Sterling Map Editor
  • GPM and BPML
  • Trading Partner Onboarding
  • EDI Mapping and Transformation
• Strong knowledge of ANSI X12 and EDIFACT standards.
• Strong experience with AS2, SFTP/FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, Connect, and MQ.
• Experience working with XML, JSON, CSV, and flat files.
• Strong knowledge of secure B2B communication, certificates, encryption/decryption, and digital signatures.
• Experience with SQL and Linux/Unix environments.
• Strong production support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis experience.

EDI Transaction Experience

Candidates should have hands-on experience with common ANSI X12 transactions, including:

850, 855, 856, 810, 820, 997, 204, 210, 214, 940, and 945

Experience with EDIFACT transactions such as:

ORDERS, ORDRSP, DESADV, INVOIC, and CONTRL
