AI Software Engineer Agentic AI & Guardrails
Job Title: AI Software Engineer
Duration: Contract(12+Months)
Work Mode: [Remote]
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced AI Software Engineer to join our AI Agentic Engineering Team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on designing and delivering guardrails, enforcement mechanisms, backend services, APIs, and integrations that govern how AI-driven systems behave across the engineering workflow.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, TypeScript, AWS, Terraform, backend engineering, and agentic AI systems, along with experience designing systems that handle misuse, unexpected inputs, failures, validation, filtering, and safe AI behavior.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services and APIs that enforce system behavior across multiple services.
- Define where and how enforcement, filtering, validation, and guardrails should be implemented within system architectures.
- Build cross-service controls and establish reusable engineering patterns for other teams.
- Design scalable and reliable services with clearly defined interfaces and contracts.
- Implement observability across service boundaries using structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
- Develop and maintain shared platform components and developer tooling.
- Design and implement agentic workflows and multi-agent systems.
- Integrate LLMs and AI capabilities into production applications.
- Develop mechanisms for prompt-injection detection, input validation, output filtering, and AI guardrails.
- Analyze failure propagation, cross-service dependencies, and system behavior under unexpected conditions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on defensive programming, safe design, and failure-handling practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews.
- Document and communicate system-level enforcement patterns and engineering standards.
Required Skills
- 5 8 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and TypeScript.
- Advanced experience developing production applications on AWS.
- Experience with AWS Lambda, Fargate, and API Gateway.
- Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience designing and developing scalable backend services and APIs.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Experience designing validation, filtering, enforcement, or security controls across multiple services.
- Experience defining interfaces, contracts, reusable patterns, or platform standards adopted by other engineers.
- Experience with LLMs, Generative AI, or AI application development.
- Experience designing AI agents, agentic workflows, or multi-agent systems.
- Knowledge of prompt injection detection, AI guardrails, output filtering, and responsible AI practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to mentor engineers and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS Bedrock.
- Experience with Bedrock Guardrails or AI model invocation.
- Experience with AWS AgentCore or similar agent runtimes.
- Experience with advanced agentic or multi-step workflow systems.
- Experience in platform engineering or developer tooling.
- Experience with observability tools and practices.
- Experience with distributed tracing and production monitoring.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum engineering environments.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer first, with hands-on AI/LLM and agentic AI experience. They should be comfortable building production-grade backend systems while also understanding how to enforce safe and predictable behavior across AI-powered, distributed applications.
