Summary

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AS400 / RPG / Mainframe Consultant to support the development, maintenance, and modernization of enterprise applications running on IBM i (AS400) and Mainframe platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in RPG development, IBM i administration, and Mainframe technologies, with the ability to troubleshoot production issues and deliver high-quality solutions.

Required Skills

9+ years of experience in AS400/IBM i development.
Strong hands-on experience with:

RPG III / RPG IV (RPGLE)
ILE RPG
CL/CLLE
DB2/400
SQL on IBM i
DDS

Experience with Mainframe technologies such as:

COBOL
JCL
CICS
VSAM

Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
Experience with production support and incident management.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Free Format RPG.
Knowledge of IBM i modernization tools and APIs.
Exposure to DevOps, Git, Jenkins, or CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
Banking, Insurance, Retail, or Manufacturing domain experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Relevant IBM i/Mainframe certifications are an advantage.
