About the Role:

The client is looking for a seasoned Coupa Procure-to-Pay consultant to serve as a client-embedded advisor on a Coupa implementation already in flight. The internal procurement champion has departed, and the client needs an experienced practitioner who can step in immediately - own open design decisions, hold the SI accountable, and steer the project to a successful go-live.

This is not a back-seat advisory role. You will be the client''s day-to-day Coupa brain: the person who reviews configuration choices, pressure-tests integration readiness, leads UAT strategy, and ensures the system is built for adoption, not just technical completion.

What You''ll Do:

• Own the procurement process design decisions that are open or undocumented - approval workflows, matching tolerances, catalog strategy, supplier segmentation, and exception handling rules.
• Act as the client''s counterpart to the SI: review deliverables, challenge design shortcuts, and ensure build aligns with documented requirements.
• Assess current project health - phase, testing status, integration readiness, open change requests, scope creep — and produce a clear risk register within the first two weeks.
• Lead or co-lead SIT/UAT planning and execution, including test scenario design, defect triage, and go/no-go readiness assessment.
• Drive supplier enablement strategy: portal onboarding sequencing, communication plans, and adoption tracking.
• Own change management and end-user training strategy - ensure Coupa is usable by requesters, approvers, and AP staff, not just procurement power users.
• Advise on Coupa-to-ERP integration touchpoints (PO sync, invoice data exchange, payment posting, user provisioning via SCIM/SAML) and flag gaps early.
• Establish and run project governance cadence - weekly steering, decision logs, RAID tracking - filling the vacuum left by the departed champion.

Must-Have Experience:

• 3+ full-lifecycle Coupa P2P implementations in a lead functional or solution architect role.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of Coupa core modules: Procurement (requisitions, POs, guided buying), Invoicing (InvoiceSmash, three-way matching, exception workflows), Supplier Management (CSP onboarding, supplier information management), and CoupaPay or payment workflows.
• Proven experience with Coupa-to-ERP integration patterns (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday) including middleware platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, or Workato).
• Strong understanding of procurement business processes end-to-end - not just the tool, but the why behind approval hierarchies, spend policies, and supplier governance.
• Track record of stepping into troubled or mid-flight implementations and stabilizing them.
• Ability to operate at both strategic (steering committee, executive sponsor) and tactical (config review, test case validation) levels.
• Coupa Certifications.
• Experience with Coupa Sourcing, CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management), or Analytics modules.

Nice to Have:

• Background in healthcare, financial services, or professional services procurement.
• Familiarity with change management frameworks (PROSCI / ADKAR) applied to procurement transformations.
• Prior experience in an independent advisory / SI oversight capacity (not just as part of the implementing SI).
