Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work closely with infrastructure engineering teams and modernize enterprise infrastructure through software-driven automation.
The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering experience in Java and Python, along with expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, API development, and CI/CD automation.
This role focuses on embedding software engineering practices within infrastructure domains such as Network, Compute, Storage, Cloud, Security, Identity, and Data Platforms to improve infrastructure delivery, automate manual processes, integrate systems, and accelerate engineering transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Automation: Modernize infrastructure delivery using Java, Python, Terraform, and Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational processes.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain reusable infrastructure automation scripts, modules, and configuration management solutions.
API Development & Integration: Design, develop, and maintain APIs to connect and integrate systems across Network, Compute, Storage, Cloud, and Identity platforms.
Platform Engineering: Build and enhance infrastructure platforms, automation frameworks, and reusable engineering capabilities.
CI/CD & Automated Testing: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and release processes to improve deployment quality and reliability.
Systems Integration: Connect infrastructure services and platforms, enabling seamless communication and automated workflows across different technology domains.
Legacy Infrastructure Modernization: Identify and remediate outdated infrastructure components, configurations, and technology versions to improve security, compatibility, and operational efficiency.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, and platform engineering teams to understand domain requirements and deliver software-driven solutions.
Required Skills (Must Have)
Java / Python Development: Strong hands-on software development experience using Java and/or Python, particularly for automation and infrastructure engineering.
Infrastructure as Code: Practical experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure provisioning, automation, and configuration management.
Infrastructure Automation: Experience building automation solutions to simplify infrastructure deployment, configuration, and operational activities.
API Development: Experience designing, developing, and integrating APIs for communication between infrastructure platforms and enterprise systems.
CI/CD Pipelines: Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated testing processes.
Platform Engineering: Experience developing or modernizing engineering platforms, automation frameworks, and infrastructure delivery processes.
