What will your day look like?
As the Director of Data & AI Engineering, you will:
• Define and execute the long-term vision and strategy for data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence initiatives
• Lead architecture and technical decision-making across data platforms, analytics solutions, and AI/ML capabilities
• Build and mature modern cloud-native data platforms and data engineering practices
• Develop scalable and governed self-service analytics capabilities that empower business stakeholders
• Establish and maintain enterprise data governance standards, including data quality, ownership, lineage, classification, and access controls
• Lead AI and machine learning initiatives from concept through deployment and operational support
• Drive adoption of MLOps best practices, including model lifecycle management, monitoring, governance, and performance optimization
• Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities where data, analytics, and AI can create measurable business value
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure data and AI solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-efficient
• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, technical roadmaps, and operational procedures
• Manage third-party vendors, consulting partners, and technology providers
• Champion modernization initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies across the data and AI landscape
• Establish key performance indicators and success metrics for data platform performance, data quality, analytics adoption, and AI outcomes
• Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing Data & AI Engineering organization
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
You will be a good fit for this role if you have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Architecture, AI/ML, or related fields
• 4+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams and engineering professionals
• Experience designing and implementing modern cloud-based data platforms
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, data pipelines, and enterprise data ecosystems
• Experience with modern data platform technologies, including lakehouse architectures and cloud-native analytics solutions
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT development, orchestration, and pipeline monitoring
• Experience building and supporting enterprise business intelligence and self-service reporting solutions
• Experience with analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar technologies
• Strong understanding of machine learning operations (MLOps) disciplines, including:
• Model lifecycle management
• Monitoring and observability
• Version control
• Governance and auditability
• Model performance management
• Experience implementing data governance frameworks, including:
• Data quality management
• Data stewardship
• Data lineage
• Data classification
• Access controls
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and services across AWS, Azure, or similar platforms
• Experience managing vendors, consultants, and external delivery partners
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
• Ability to balance strategic planning with technical oversight and execution
